In this sweet, clean Hallmark style love story, you’ll get plenty more of the characters you fell in love with in the first book, to include Shelby the smart rescue dog!

After swoony Air Force Sergeant, Liam James, proposes to the love of his life, preparations for a wedding in two short months begin. But no wedding goes off without a hitch.

As Sophie starts planning, her son Cam, on the autism spectrum, experiences events that threaten the black and white world he lives in. Trying to maintain a peaceful existence for her family, Sophie’s world is rocked to the core once again when her fiancé leaves town.

Will she muster the strength to bring her future family back together so they can have their forever happiness?

Excerpt

Pulling in the parking lot, my phone rings. Furrowing my brows, I tell her, “It’s the school. I need to get this. I’ll meet you inside.”

“Okay.” Bridge climbs out as I push the car speaker button.

“Hello?”

“Mrs. Beck, this is Ms. Thompson, Cameron’s guidance counselor at Twinkle Falls Elementary.”

“Yes, is everything alright?”

“One of the students in Cam’s class had to take a leave of absence because his father passed away.”

Electricity shot through me as I start my car and exit the parking lot. “Where’s my son, Ms. Thompson? Is he alright?”

My heart begins thumping in my ears imagining the thoughts running through his head. When he hears about someone losing their father for any reason, it turns his world on its side.

“He’s okay, but as you can imagine he’s a bit shaken. Cam is in the Principals office examining her model of the solar system. It’s the only thing that seems to distract him when he gets agitated.”

“Yes, he has a smaller one at home. I’m on my way Ms. Thompson. I’ll be there in ten minutes.”

Before I end the call, she reveals, “There’s something else you should know Mrs. Beck. The boy’s father…he died while he was deployed overseas.”

Tears fill my eyes making it difficult to see the road. I pull to the shoulder trying to breathe as she asks, “Mrs. Beck, are you there?”

After two years, the mention of losing a service member still has this effect on me. Holding my hands over my face, I can’t seem to find my words. A video reel of the last two years starts playing in my head.

I sniffle and take a few breaths. “Mmhmm. I understand. —I’m on the way.” I hang up before she can say another word.

Knowing I have to be strong for my boy, I push back the memories of the unexpected visitors showing up on my doorstep with news that changed our lives forever.
