About the Authors
Galit Cohen is a social development crusader and networker extraordinaire. She manages to juggle the whirlwind life of a single parent with regular visits to the rural communities around East London in South Africa. In between all that, she fervently works her networks to benefit the rural sector – and do a little writing on the side.
She has joined and headed emergency missions to Haiti (Earthquake 2010), Philippines (Typhoon 2014), USA (Tornado 2014) and South Sudan (2014, 2015).
Gailt graduated with a Master’s Degree in Public Health specializing in management of emergencies and disasters. She has worked on social development projects in South Africa since 2002, in 2013, opened the Blue Crane Foundation and later Ripples for Change, NGOs supporting rural communities. She lives with her son, Lubabalo, in East London, South Africa.
Lynette Howe is a proud parent, dog lover, cat owner, wine connoisseur and motoring enthusiast. She runs a Public Relations and Communications agency, LaMont Marketing, from her home in East London, South Africa, where she lives with her son James.
Her company was contracted to run the activations around a rural development program initiated by Philips SA, who became sponsors of the SAFA Soweto Amateur Football League in the build-up to the World Cup South Africa 2010. The success of this project, which grew from a handful of teams to the largest amateur football league in the country, sparked her passion for Cause Related Marketing.
Lynette is a keen blogger and social media content writer and dedicates her time to putting her skills to work for the greater good.
